Hi people

I got an ipod classic recently and have found an issue with it.
Ive always heard of people playing it throught there stereo amps with a phono lead or whatever but when i try this its far too quiet i have to turn my amp up so loud it starts to hiss?
What am i doing wrong ive never heard anyone else mention this problem?
My amp (Rotel) never gets above 1/2 playing cd's but i have to push it to 7/8 to hear my ipod properly and this doesnt give good sound quality at all.
Any advice much appreciated

Hi, and welcome to the forum. Do you have the volume on the ipod at it's max.

Are you using the headphone socket to connect to your amp? If so turn the iPod volume right up.

I would recommend using a dock or dock connector if you're going to use an external amp.

Steven.
