    A) Apple icon stays dispayed for about 1-2 mins(varies)
    B) Launguage selection screen appears (when i pick english)
    C) IPOD goes to main screen ie; music/extras etc
    D) I choose music, then playlists then play
    E) Music plays for about 30 seconds then shuts down and apple icon reapears..........then back to A)Language etc.

I have reset it and that does not work, when i try to connect it to itunes to restore it, the computer does not seem to know i have even connected it,
only the ipod screen comes up with DO NOT DISCONNECT and then back to

You may have two seperate problems here - the iPod itself, and the computer.

Have you tried the Apple Discussions forums?

    http://discussions.info.apple.com/

It may be worth going there and seeing if anyone else has come across this.

Also, have you tried your Ipod mini with another computer running iTunes? That would isolate whether it's the iPod and/or the computer.

Best of luck. Keep us posted.

It definitely sounds as if it's the iPod then. Anyway, if you can't find the answer on Apple's Discussion forums, and after following Apple suggested steps here to try and fix the problem yourself:

    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/

you can then go on to request service (they send you a box to send the iPod back to them, all FOC and by return of post if it's in warranty - which your iPod mini must be) from Apple's iPod Service Request site here:

    http://depot.info.apple.com/ipod/

It's all quite pain free. Apple's service is second-to-none.
