Apologies if this is elementary, but I'm about to buy a new laptop and am worried about the implications for my itunes library.

If I want to add any new tracks to my ipod, will I not lose all the existing stuff next time I synch? Is there any way of copying from the ipod to the new hard drive?

    Cheers.

    Yes can be done.

If windows operating system go to control panel, folder options, view, hidden files and folders click on Show hidden files and folders, click on OK.
Then go to my computer with your Ipod hooked up to your computer, click on the ipod drive and there inside one of previously hidden files you find the folders with all your music. Copy them to your laptop.

    Hope this helps
