iPhone Doubters

“The iPhone is a bandwidth hog and is not profitable for carriers. Rivals are entering the mobile browser space to compete with Apple. Although Apple's gadgets are trendy, their hardware will eventually become irrelevant.”

What utter BS - the bandwidth issue is the carriers fault. The likes of O2 have promised the world, but not invested enough. Secondly, the iPhone is no more of a 'bandwidth' hog than any other modern smartphone - Andriod phones are just the same, more so if Googles dream of running everything in the cloud takes off (like google navigation downloading maps on demand). And if it not profitable, why were the networks so keen to get their mits on it? I forgot the figure, but Orange sold an astonishing amount (tens of thousands) on the first weekend.

But there are lots of quotes on that site from clearly biased views and vested interest in other brands.

Who cares anyway. The iphone is the best phone, so i bought one. When something else is better, i will buy that. Again - *yawn*
