Hi there,
I've just reached the end of my 24 month contract, and I can't really decide what to do.
It's mostly in terms of the outright cost of the iPhone as I don't actually pay the monthly bill.
However, I'm currently using my 600 minutes that I receive per month, and my (what I thought was 750mb) unlimited data..
I rang orange yesterday to see about moving over to the new iPhone plan with unlimited minutes and the guy suggested I didn't, due to them no longer having unlimited data ( however, I was under the illusion that when I took out my 4 contract back in 2010, my 'unlimited' was 750 and so that doesn't really make a difference )
So, here are my options:
1) Claim through my insurance for my current iPhone (£50 excess), as it is currently playing up. Then sell the 32gb black 4 replacement ( I'm presuming I would get around £280-£300? That leaves me with a minimum of £230, which I will then use £80 of to pay for a new 32gb iPhone 4s on contract. Assuming I manage to keep that mint, I'll then sell the 4s when the 5 comes out, hopefully regaining around £300..
That means I'd have £480 towards a new iPhone, then having to put around £120 of my own money to buying it outright.
2) Upgrade to the S3, and sell that straight away, for around £360. Then sell my 4 when the 5 comes out, hopefully for around £220, and have £580 towards a new iPhone. However, my only worry would be, do orange limit the panther contract Internet if you use an iPhone?
3) sell my 4 when the 5 comes out and just do a straight upgrade..
If anyone could give any advice, I would be extremely grateful!
Jack
