iPhone back up help

I am sure I am missing something but I am struggling.
Bought my daughter a new iphone(3.1.3) and she wants an exact copy of her old one(3.1 2).
Backed up old one and plugged in new one and set up as back up.
After ages it finished but no songs or apps
Can anyone advise please

you need to scroll through the tabs on the iphone part in itunes and click on what you want synced to the iphone i would have thought,

you just need to resync the songs and apps back to the phone....the backup only contains your data like eMail, calendar, notes, contacts etc....not your apps ( or their data ) or your music!

The trouble is she does not have all the songs in itunes.

ah righto...too late now unfortunately! You can backup music off the iPhone first but since you've restored theres no point now

well assuming she has under 1000 songs, you could try : Senuti — Recover music from your iPod, iPhone or iPad to your Mac
