Just returned from the US and thought while I'm out there I'll price an iPhone8, $799!! Also looked at the accessories and priced up the official base charger for the iPhone $55.99!!
Now in the UK they are £799 and £59.99 respectively, so I thought even with the poor exchange rate I'd be a fool not to buy both, so I did, got home the other day and got the credit card bill for them both and it came to
£702. Not sure I need to say much more as the figures speak for themselves.

Your post is only correct to the extent one would have to declare the purchase of a new iPhone 8 handset on re-entry to the UK in order to pay the correct customs and tax. Any suggestion of breaking the law is not allowed on this site. Thank you.

And your point is?... Oh, that you buy a return plane ticket to the States, then you break the law and don’t pay customs tax on your purchase?

American prices also vary massively depending on where you buy due to different taxes in different states.

When you travel overseas for business or holiday trip, do you declare anything that you bought there including clothes, toiletries, electronics etc? If so, how do you do that?

erm, you walk through the big gate saying something to declare at the airport.

You'll find you can buy reasonable amounts of stuff. info here

I remember now. Never knew what that meant. What if someone doesn't declare their items, what happens?

if you do not declare, one of two things can happen
    you get away with it
and the other is they take you into the room and do a check of your bags etc, but really depends on where you are travelling from, and at the same time you wont always get border officers there, so you will just walk out without declaring, don't sweat it
