White iPhone 64gb 5 in full working order. Never had any issues with the phone and only selling as upgraded to a 5s. Over a year old so no warranty.

Comes with original box with charger etc. Cant seem to find the headphones so will include the new ones received with my 5s.

Due to my clumsiness... the phone does have a few marks around the edges (see photos) but the screen is tip top with no markings at all. I have priced this accordingly.

Any other questions please ask away!

    Price and currency: 275
Delivery: Delivery cost is not included
    Payment method: BT
    Location: stirling

    Mason,

Have received iphone and fired it up and looks as though there is a hardware fault with the display, as circa 90% of the screen is covered by a pink block rectangle which is really annoying. I have done the usual googling to see if any other users have experienced similar faults, and it appears this is a known problem especially since ios 7, and looks as though a new LCD display is required to rectify the fault.

See following link for details iPhone 5 pink hue in center of the screen - MacRumors Forums

Therefore, as this was not stated In the advert at any stage, and if known would have prevented me from making an offer please confirm what you are prepared to do to resolve this issue.

    Thanks

    Dickz

I definitely wasn't like that when I sent it- I posted a picture of it on (which was taken when your offer was made). So I definately sent it in the condition I described.

Can you sent me a pic of the phone showing the fault please?

I'm unsure what to do- as again it was sent in the condition described. Obviously, I want to try and resolve the issue- but unsure what I am required to do. I suppose we start by seeing the fault and then asking a mod I suppose.

Again, I would rather sort if that's the case.

    Thanks

This is when the picture was taken, date and time etc. I then switched it off and parcelled it waiting to address etc.

Here we go again… The iPhone was well packaged and the box was placed in a jiffy bag with a further jiffy bag on the outside and no damage to iPhone box, i have checked with wife and kids as wanted to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me, and the pink block rectangle is clearly visible…

And in your thumbnail pic above there does appear to be a pink block rectangle on the display, suggest that you upload a full size picture.

I have attached the following picture alongside an iPod 5th gen to highlight the problem further.

Please advise accordingly as it looks as though we may require mods intervention...

I'm not understanding the "here we go again" statement? Let's not try and bring any historic trading issues you have had before please (assuming that's what you meant). I'm not one for slagging matches.

I will up load the full size image and again I stress that there wasn't any anything noticeable and anything that I would say looked out of the normal when I took the photo. So again, it was fine when I sent it.

Certainly, your two picture look totally different... Certainly different colours in fairness.

Ok, the bottom line is I have just paid CPW a visit as they are in walking distance from my home, I gave the phone to one of the geek squad assistants and they confirmed that this is definitely a hardware fault with the display, and have provided me with a repair quote of £216.44, which I guess is typical as their policy is most likely to try and get the customer to buy a new handset.

Likewise I do not want to get into a slanging match and apologise if you took offence, but starting to get a tad annoyed at deals that go south, which then seem to take an enormous amount of effort to resolve.

Not sure what's happened to your last pic posted as some of the text is missing from the bottom of the screen, and I can still see a pink block rectangle, albeit lighter than the pic I posted earlier.

Just to reiterate I signed for this at 11am this morning, and reported the problem at 11.20am, so almost immediately from receipt, also it does not appear that this fault was likely to have been caused in transit, as the box and Jiffy bags were unopened and did not appear damaged in any way.

Please confirm your position, as ideally looking to return iphone for refund.

    Thanks.

I will have a think. Am a tad annoyed at this too. As I definately didn't look pink before I switched it off.

The text missing is just the way the screen kinda "waves" through the various languages of the opening message etc

    Mason,

As per Lewie's suggestion looking to go with a refund on this, as don't want the aggro of messing around with replacing the screen, therefore, are we all set for me to PM bank details, and suggest that you confirm postage of choice to be included with the refund, and once received will return the iphone accordingly.

    Thanks

    Dickz.

So I have to refund and get back a broken phone??

My pictures were posted, payment made and phone sent. Phone was well packaged. Now the phone is broken and I've just to simply take someone's view that, that was how it was when he switched it on?

I'm sorry guys, I'm not one to sell faulty good and I'm not one to start up an argument but the phone was fine when sent (my work mate can confirm this too) and now (going by your comparison pictures) it's now broke?

    Mason,

The bottom line is that this is the condition the phone arrived in, and as you can see from both the unsolicited comments from Mother and Lewie, they can see the pink box in the picture you uploaded, so do you think that i should just accept this fault?

I have sought some advice on the screen replacement, and have been advised that the best approach would be to go for an all in one solution which i am informed is a matter on removing 2 screws unplugging cables and the fitting replacement, but the sticking points is there are a couple of dings on the case which you mentioned in the post which may have distorted the case making difficult to fit an OEM replacement, anyway as previously stated not prepared to go down this route and just looking for a refund as previously stated.

    Apsilon would appreciate your input.

    Thanks

    Dickz.

Mason the phone wasnt fine when you sent it....it is clear as day that the picture you presented on the forum had a huge pink hue to it nearly covering the whole screen.....i don't know Dickz or yourself and only came across this thread as i am looking for a iphone 5 so i am just commenting on what i have seen at my end.....i would be so ****** if i got a phone that looked like that for £265.00.

"my work mate can confirm this too"?.......what the?....oh well that makes everything ok then...lol.

I can see the faint pink framing on the screen and it's especially prevalent in posts 12 & 13. Now I have to admit that it is faint and it certainly wouldn't have struck me as an apparent fault had I been interested in buying at the time as it almost looked like was down to the quality of the pictures or the ambient surroundings. It reminds me of an illusion where you stare at an image then look at a blank wall. It's almost imperceptive but it is there.

However, as the buyer now has it in his possession and he has stated that it does display the same pink bordering on screen as in the pictures then as Lewie said, a full refund is the only option here.

    Regards

It seems Mason still hasn't responded with regards the refund so if there has been no contact by noon tomorrow, Mason will be banned from trading until this dispute is resolved. PM sent

Dickz, if this indeed becomes the case and Mason doesn't respond, I would recommend you escalate this legally.

    Regards
