I've just noticed that on my iPhone 4 which I got delivered by orange yesterday that it had a slight chip in the plastic and a scratch on the metal bit..
I know this wasn't me because I've left it on my table on a microfibre cloth the entire time!! Do you think if I ring orange when they get some back in stock they will swap it?

I've had this exact same problem...I haven't even used it outdoors. I didnt check it after unwrapping I've bought it from the Apple Store. I'm just worried they won't give me an exchange as they won't believe I haven't dropped. Anyone else have this problem?

Did you upgrade or through apple?

Just go in and see what they say :)

Unfortunately both the phone and the iPad have considerable "hands-on" work in the factory. My phone came perfect, but my iPad has a really tiny scratch in the aluminium frame near the dock connector. It was small enough not to worry about. But others had more substantial chips in the frame etc.

The important thing is to check your new device over quickly as soon as you get it, and then report it immediately. Otherwise nobody will believe you that it came out of the box like that.

@Spikeyjac-do you really need 2 threads going on the same subject?

Are you that important?

No need to be funny about it.
I wasn't the one that posted in this thread again, someone else did!
I had made a different thread, and decided not to post in this one, seeing as no one had replied.
Whatever, I'll archive this one.

Not quite sure what was funny?

Azzin seems like one of those people where if you make a duplicate post, or say something on a forum he doesn't particular like.. His life starts to crumble away, the walls close in and it's quite likely that the four horseman of the apocalypse will eradicate the human race from the face of the earth.

Rather than just not reading it.. :smashin:

Back to the original topic - i would notify orange fn the problem straight away.. Longer you leave it, the more likely they'll put it down to you. See if they'll take it and back exchange, although you may be in for quite a wait with stock levels as they are.

Unlucky mate, it's a bugger when you buy a shiney new toy and it arrives damaged.. Even if its in a slight way, it niggles at you.

I've rung them ( see my thread entitled Dilema) ( although I spelt it with two 'l' by mistake)
They said that I have to send it back to them and they will process it, and hopefully by Thursday/Friday I will be able to upgrade again..
Think the plan is, that while I'm away in Turkey my mum will ring up 3-4 times, and then I've got a space of 4 days where I can hopefully find one if not :)
