iPhone 2G White Screen - Quick Question.

Someone i know is selling a 2G iPhone, because it shows a white screen and he doesnt know how to fix it. When you press a button the screen lights up white but with no picture. There is also sound coming from the phone and it also gets recognised in iTunes.

So the question is do you think this is more a software issue or a hardware issue. In other words do you think it can be sorted via a restore or reset, or more like a faulty LCD. Baring in mind both screens look in tip top shape.

If its a software problem i think im gonna pick it up.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a screen problem to me, has he tried restoring and hard-resetting it?

By screen problem, do you mean hardware wise. As in needs a new LCD or Digitizer?

Yeh, i dont wanna mention them to him though incase he trys them and it works lol. So its kind of a gamble. Was just gonna see what the majority of you thought.
