Ipad on 3 network

Hi i am thinking of selling my ipad which i have on a 3 contract silly question do all ipads come unlocked or will it be locked to 3.

I think only the ones sold by Apple are unlocked, if you buy them from a network they might be locked.

In particular I've heard all Orange ones are locked.

Not 100% sure though.

They aren't unfortunately, bought one off a member here and was locked to Vodafone and had to pay £19.99 to get it unlocked. The ones bought from Apple directly to my knowledge are unlocked

Also the ones bought from shops are unlocked. It is only the ones branded with a contract which are locked I think.
