iPad dock TV connected issue

Hi I have just bought an Iwantit IPH10011 iPad speaker dock. The sound is fantastic but if I try to watch a video or YouTube on iPad or iPhone when docked it says "TV connected. This video is playing on the TV" and will play only audio. I know the dock has TV out on it, but it isn't connected to anything. Does anyone know how to bypass this , or any settings on iPad to enable me to watch videos on my iPad when docked? Thanks in advance.

Can I check what you mean - is the dock connected to the tv? This sentence makes me think it isn't?

This may work but you will need to jailbreak your iPad

This app enables screen mirroring so should work.

Not aware of any other way to do what you want, shame as what you want to do sounds pretty reasonable to me!
