I'm supposed to be selling this to a buyer on here and I've hit a wall.

We're back early from holiday any wife's bogged down with a rotten cold, so thought I'd make sure I'd fully reset the iPad and removed the Find my iPad bit etc

I've factory reset it, whilst it was plugged into my MBP and now the iPad won't switch on

It was wrong fine and had already reset once, but now its like it's died

No Apple on the screen, no charging symbol etc.

I've tried to hold power and the home button down like a soft reset, nothing.

Tried plugging it into the mains to charge with x2 known working chargers and cables, nothing

I'm completely stumped as now I've got a heavy paperweight by the looks of it :(

    Anyone any ideas?

If the battery is completely discharged nothing will show on the screen for a few minutes until the battery has reached 3-4% charge.
Have you tried just plugging it in and waiting 5 mins?

    Thanks

It'd been plugged in for a good hour and has been for last 3 hours, still nothing

Could a connection have worn out/been damaged?

It's never been dropped or similar, so it's not like sudden shock etc

As it was plugged in to your Mac, has it gone into some kind of recovery mode? Plug it in to the Mac again and see what happens.

I gave my iPad to a friend, and it seemed to completely die. She just left it a few days, plugged it back in, and then it came back to life.

Unfortunately it appears to be a brick.

My wife's been to Trafford Centre this morning with her sister (as sick as a dog she is) and kindly took the iPad to the Apple Store and their geniuses couldnt get it running

They wanted £99 to sort it properly, it's not worth it, so we'll send it off for proper recycling on a charities behalf.

Annoying but not a lot to be done unfortunately

I’d suggest just leaving it off charge for a week and then try charging again. I’ve seen this work at least twice.
