Trade-only distributor, Invision UK, has announced the availability of two new Full 3D projectors from Optoma – the Themescene HD33 and HD83. We’ve been thoroughly impressed by both the HD33 and HD83 in our reviews, particularly at the price they can be had for at retail.

Both projectors are Full 3D 1080p and include 3D-RF glasses (the HD83 is supplied with two pairs; HD33 one) and an RF emitter – which helps with placement issues that infra-red models can introduce.

Optoma guarantees the image and colour quality on both models for at least five years. Installers and calibrators will benefit from the reasonably effective colour management system (CMS+), found in the HD83 and both models managed to be calibrated to virtual reference greyscale. There’s a claimed 500:1 ANSI contrast ratio and there was certainly plenty of luminosity for 3D duties.

“These are top drawer projectors,” says Chris Dawson, InvisionUK Product Manager. “The HD33 is incredible value for money, whilst the HD83 produces some of the highest quality 3D images available to consumers. Both models benefit greatly from Optoma’s PureEngine technologies.”

They're certainly contenders, Chris, but there’s lots of competiton out there, right now. Check our review home page for the evidence and to subscribe to a number of upcoming 3D projector reviews.
