Internet radio plus

Any ideas out there.

I am looking for a tuner or radio with the following:

DAB, DAB+, FM, Internet radio (MP3, Ipod or streaming not required but if it is there - ok). Must have an ethernet connection, line out (to an amp), digital aerial connection (for a fixed roof aerial) and , if possible some form of tone control.

Any ideas that aren't rude!!!!

Money, money, money!

Certainly there are systems that can do what you want, but the question is, can you afford them?

Many, actually most, digital media streaming systems like Sonos, and Logitech Squeezebox, can stream Internet radio, as well as media on network attached storage. But, I'm not sure they have FM/DAB.

I suspect there are very nice systems that do have everything, but they are not going to be cheap.

The central point is, give us a working budget and we will see what we can find.

I was after something like this a while back and stumbled upon the Tangent NET-200:

Tangent Audio

It seems to fit the bill (check out the Specifications link) and would probably fall within my budget but I couldn't find a UK distributor. I emailed Tangent to find out if there are any but nobody replied...

Steve,
Thank you for all the hard work. I shall take a look and see what it does and where it is available.

Thanks again,

Steve, Andy,

Thanks for the info and help. It looks as if the Tangent is the best way to go as it seems to have all the requirements FM, DAB, DAB+ ready, internet, Ethernet connection, line out, and digital aerial in connection plus a remote. I have E mailed Tangent in Denmark but, it would seem that the item is not available in the UK - why I wonder?. They have suggested a possible seller in Denmark so I will have to contact them although, at the moment their site is in Danish only so I will have to try and find a way to E mail them. The Tangent is available for about £360 via a Swiss company and I may end up going that way, though I may have to buy a 240v (in) to 220v (out) transformer if it is 220v only.
Andy, I will have a look at the equipment you suggest though an output to a Hi-Fi amp is important.

Regards,

Geoff

OK, after some delving I have found a Danish company that can supply the tuner at a cost in total of £438 - ouch!. Company is called "Cableman".

Maybe I shall go ahead - think about it. Might be cheaper via the Switzerland company.

Geoff.
