anyone know about postage times to the states over christmas?

i have a bit of a problem, i need a small 200g parcel to be delivered by 12am on the 30th of december.

i also need to send it as cheaply as possible because im broke and i also need to delay sending it for as long as possible

from my research the post offices airsure service is looking most promising at £8.10 with delivery aim of 5-7 working days but it has no info about postage delays and holidays over christmas.

so my plan at the moment is to send it on the 13th of december but having more days would be preferable but if there is a likelyhood it wont get there in time i will send earlier if i have to.

    what do you think?

According to the RM site, using airsure it is 10th Dec to get there before Christmas.

    Christmas Last Postage

Your requirement is 5 days later but if it were me, I would assume that postal services are going to be fairly limited between 25th and 30th.

    I would assume this

25th Saturday - Christmas Day - no postal services
26th Sunday - Boxing Day - no postal services
27th - Public Holiday in lieu of Christmas Day - no postal services
28th - Public Holiday in lieu of Boxing Day - no postal services
29th and 30th - probably will be postal services but may have a backlog to deal with

So if it were me I'd assume the 10th December

    Cheers,

    Nigel

Yes I know, which is why I went on to say that there are only two postal days between the 25th and 30th and on those days there may be backlogs to handle.

So if it is the 10th for Dec 25th, perhaps it is the 12th for Dec 30th.

    Cheers,

    Nigel
