Hi all.
I was given some Ethernet cable to run outside the house connecting the ground floor to the upstairs. At least 3/4s of the cable is exposed and will be in direct sunlight on a south facing wall.
I didn't know untill after installing it that it was internal cable and not rated for outside.
My question is then, realisticly , how long will internal cable likely last exposed to the good old English weather?
I would rather not have to take it all down again just after putting it up, but if its likely to last a couple of years then I will leave it untill then.
Has any one used cat5e internal out side?
If so how has it lasted?
Thanks.
