    Hi,

I have a Thomson Sky digibox connected as follows:

SKY RGB out -> Panny E55 DVDR RGB in/out -> Panny Viera 37" AV4 RGB in

I have this setup since September 2004 and on occasions for no apparent reason I get a *loud* whining sound from the TV speakers when viewing Sky. Once it starts the only way to stop it is to unplug the sky box for a while. Recently it has started happening more and more. The sound is definitely not a fan, it is more like feedback; a very constant high pitched tone.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this ? I am currently subscribing to the ~£21 package (everything except Movies and Sports). I wonder what my chances are of getting a replacement box from Sky ?

    Cheers,

    Andy.

If you've had it since September 2004 it's still under warranty. Get Sky out to fix it.

There is a known issue with a small minority of thomson boxes that causes this problem, some can be cured with a download, most cannot! call sky, they will swap it out for you no problem!
