Question intermittent audio drop-out on 32PFT6500/12

My 32PFT6500/12 has begun to show a disturbing problem, to wit: at completely random intervalls the audio will cut out for a second or so, both on speakers and headphones. This is a new problem, only occuring in the last week or so. No new configuration, same as before: TIVO and Samsung SMT-C7160 boxes, both connected via HDMI cables, no external sound system, just headphones. Software upgrade a few weeks ago. Is there some audio setting that I can change/impliment to alleviate this very annoying problem?

No idea sorry. But can only suggest the typical PC troubleshooting approach, of process of elimination and turning it off and on again.

After unplugging etc. Can you run an app from the TV direct and eliminate the external sources using HDMI, and try a video on YouTube or BBC iPlayer, and is that OK?

Sound problem on the TV, resolved; on the SMT-C7160, not.
