For 2 days now I am getting a small red dot (1x1cm) on my Phillips iDTV somewhere in the middle left of the screen

    It happens only

    ....on Freeview channels (ie digital)
....last a few seconds (2-3 seconds after the channel number disappears) after I switch channels (on most channels)
but sometimes on ITV/SKY news and QVC it stays there in the middle of the screen.

If I switch it off and put it on again, no red dot, and does not appear when I change channels. But reappears if I switch to one of those offending channels mentioned above and then reappears everytime when I change channel

    Anybody know what is happening???

The red dot means that the signal isn't strong enough it must be border line if it keeps coming and going looks like you need a better aerial.

I used to have this problem (I don't know why it goes in the middle of the screen, but I suppose it has to go somewhere), but I upgraded my aeriel about a year ago it has been fine...until recently when it has become very "digitally jerky" if you know what I mean...

Did you replace the aerial cable with the proper double-shielded "satellite" stuff at the same time?

No, didn't change any cables. Wasn't too bothered about it really as it only serves my bedroom
