    Of course, BluRay's refusal to guarantee users the ability to rip HD media to servers for playback throughout the home kind of puts a damper on the idea of an HTPC server.

    And it seems like BuRay is going to 'win' the battle in view of the backing it has from most of the major Hollywood pigopolists.

    BluRay has already won ... don't know if thats good or bad.

    And I wouldn't worry about ripping protection stuff, its only bits n bytes, it will be cracked, of that you can be sure :devil:
