Intel LCOS no go

    Oh, didn't see it was already posted.
    Still not good news though, as I thought LCOS was something there was a lot of interest in....
    Hopefully there are others working on it, but if THESE people have given up, well, not good.

    I suspect there are probably techniques which take LCD performance close to that of LCOS which are significantly cheaper: lamp modulation , adaptive iris , extra panel for reinforcing opacity of lower intensity levels.

    Whereas LCOS is still going through the same production yield problems that all the other display technologies start off with which makes for an initially high price.
