Hi excuse my ignorance but why does the laptop have such a small HDD? Or am I missing something? Surely Windows 7 would barely fit on such a small drive?

    It's an SSD mate :)

2.5 inch mechanical hard drives are slow as a dog, no matter how fast the CPU/RAM is winodws will chug loading, and loading programs.

64GB SSD, you're left with about 45GB for programs, enough for Adobe Master Collection, MS Office and a few games, at £220 can't ask for much more.

I'd happily put in a brand new 500GB hard drive instead for the same price
(that I currently have for sale here) Makes no odds to me, the SSD could easily be sold for £40 and the hard drive is up for £28 :p

Thanks for explaining that.Presumably if you put the 500gb hdd in it, it will have the original Win7 loaded? Did it originally come with any other installed software?

I can clone the data on the SSD no problem, so yes will have same stuff on it.

I just did a fresh install of Windows using freely available ISO of Windows 7 Home Premium and used my genuine key that came with the laptop to install and then activate, so it's all legit, then installed all drivers etc.

There's no paid software on there, it was provided as all laptops are with the usual bloatware and rubbish loading at startup that slow things down, I can provide a restore disk of what's on there now using Acronis TrueImage.

You would just start the computer with the restore disk in, chose boot from DVD in BIOS and then pick a few options and all data would be restored to state as sold, or can always just include Windows 7 Home Premium on a DVD+R, (completely legal to do this and is freely downloadable on digital river), you would have key so can re-install/activate whenever at a later date if needs be.

Best I could do is £200 delivered, which is a fair bit less than I was expecting to have to barter to if I'm honest, considering it's got a nice Blu-Ray drive in there :p

The SSD likely won't be any use to you as laptops can only hold one 2.5 inch drive (a hard drive or an SSD). An SSD is basically like flash memory, so think of the memory in a USB stick, but much faster it uses less power because of no moving parts, the drawback is that cost per GB is sky high relative to a normal mechanical hard drive.

If we did agree a deal at £200 I wouldn't be able to stand by the battery life claim though I estimate it wouldn't shorten it by much more than 15-20 minutes vs the SSD. :)

EDIT, obviously if you weren't happy with it I would of course refund you though provided you let me know within a day or two of receipt, don't get me wrong I pride myself in being a reasonable person when it comes to buying and selling here.
