integrated amp or pre/power combo.

looking for new system and seen good deals on pre / power amp for similar price to new integrated , glad of opinion on which is best for sound , the pre/power i seen is rotel 03 with o6 ,cheers in advance.:thumbsup:

Whilst this thread is broadly similar to your other thread,I'll leave it open......you should listen to as many different combinations of amps and speakers as possible before buying.

Obviously include the pre/power amps that fall into your pice band as well,but don't neccessarily be swayed into thinking that a pre/power combination is any better than an integrated.

There are integrated amps for every price bracket,extending to several thousands of pounds for those from the likes of Gryphon and Krell amongst others.

In your price band,the Rotel is very good value and very well made,but you really do need to try it with your chosen speakers.

There are pros and cons for both integrated and pre/power amplifiers. You have to decide what is better for your requirements, and buy accordingly. Don’t forget, where possible, audition before buying.
