I'm thinking of buying a new Sharp GX30i from Amazon at £229.99 for use with my current Vodafone PAYG Sim card which at the moment is in an old Nokia 6510.

I've previously had contract phones and paid an additional payment each month for insurance, but my curren Nokia 6510 is uninsured.

My brother has the Sharp GX30i on contract and I think he pays about £7.99 a month for the insurance, which is £95.88 a year. I'm not sure if there's a policy excess or anything that he would have to pay if he needed to claim?

Will it be possible to get insurance for the new PAYG Sharp Gx30i that I want to buy, bearing in mind I don't have a contract?

If so, is it worth me getting it insured?

N.B - I've already checked my household contents policy and mobiles are specifically excluded.
