Having been a happy Wii owner for a year now I ' ve just brought a second hand copy of Rogue Leader, and I have to say I'm very impressed with the super visuals and instantly gratifying nature of the game play . Now I' ve borrowed the out laws kids gamecube controller and before I get my own does any one have any recommendations for similar kind of games i.e visually arresting , easy and fun that are available for the gamecube , many thanks ( I know I should have posted this in the gamecube section , but I thought I saw a tumbleweed while I was there )

    (Rifles through GC collection...)

    Starfox Adventures
F-Zero GX (Not as pick-up-and-play as the others, but a worthy game for anyone's collection. Unless you hate racers, it's a must :))
Rebel Strike (Rogue Leader sequel- outstanding title)
    WaveRace- Blue Storm
    Mario Kart- Double Dash
    Both Metroid Prime titles

    Hope this helps

    What he said plus:

Pikmin 1 & 2 (perhaps not *quite* pick up and play, but good fun even ignoring the puzzle elements).

    1080 Avalanche

...I'm sure there are more, but I can't think of any at the moment.

Eternal Darkness is a brilliant game with great graphics. It's split into loads of chapters so you could play one at a time. Its not too hard but if you got stuck you could always find a walkthrough online.

I would love to see a Wii sequel to Eternal Darkness :lease:

Great suggestions , I think I will definitely hunt down a copy of Rebel Strike as I can't believe how good Rogue Leader is . I can remember vaguely when Rogue Leader was released and I think I remember thinking it looked good , but that I would never buy a Gamecube as it would look ungainly on my AV rack ! I am really looking forward to tracking down some of those games recommended and any more recommendations for easy arcadey type games would be gratefully received .

I've got both. Rebel Strike is great but definitely not as great as Rogue Leader.

One nice touch in Rebel Strike is that you can play all the original Rogue Leader missions in co-op mode as a separate category on the disc  - great fun.

If you've got a UK Wii, pick up Smash Bros Melee to start developing your skills in time for the release of Brawl who-knows-when! Fantastic multi-player game.

Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker is a classic.

As already mentioned, F-Zero is a fantastic racer - but really, really hard in places; stunning visuals though, and very fast.

Not quite so stunning on the visuals, though very smooth in motion are Super Monkey Ball 1 & 2 - better than the Wii version IMO, and will certainly provide plenty of challenge after the first few levels.

    Another Ditto.

Beyonf Good and Evil is superb as well - almost Zelda-great. Arguably better than Wind Waker, but not the other ones.
