The house we have moved into already has a sky dish on the back. We are thinking about getting sky, will the installer use the old dish or replace it?

Also we are getting new windows installed very soon. This probably sounds a bit fussy but I don't really want a hole in them. If I ask for the wire to go through the wall will they do it or think I'm having a laugh?

    Thanks.

Will probably replace the dish, in fact make sure they do, and cable through wall is no problem, again make sure they do what you want not what is easiest for them!

To answer the question, the engineer will assess the job and should replace the existing dish if it isn't a digital dish or in a good state of repair.
He or she should replace the existing cable but most of the time they will use it if it in good quality and repair and of suitable length.

The engineer will explain how he or she will route the cabling your house as they will have to get it agreeded before they do anything.

The engineer will not go through the window, all engineers are now required to go through the brickwork as you are not allowed to drill window frames and only use existing drilled holes through the window frames.

Thats interesting thanks. Glad they cant drill through the window frame, the hole in the ones that are coming out is huge.
