Just wondering if my installer has installed my Panasonic500 correctly

    SKY+ > RGB 1

    DVD PANASONIC DMRES10 > COMPONENT

    SKY+ > DMRES10 ( TO ENABLE RECORDING )

I was told that Sky via component this way would look fantastic but it is terrible compared to RGB

The DVD player via component looks great but Sky looks wrong.

you need to connect sky+ from the rgb scart to the dvdr and then dvdr to screen via component...sky doesn't need to go to direct to screen and only one scart is rgb enabled on sky+ anyway. Also make sure sky is set to rgb

Both my Sky+ scarts are RGB enabled, I run a gamecube through it in crystal clear RGB.

    Connect sky > dmres10,
dmres > scart 2 TV OR
    dmres > component TV

They had messed the connections up. I've done what's suggested above...

I've done both of the above, so my dmres goes directly into component so I can watch dvd's in component. Would that be correct?

Thanks. This way Sky looks better via component than before.

One other question, will it matter having to leave my DVD switched on all the time? If I switch it off Sky via component doesn't work.

Even leaving it in standby doesn't work.
