Just tried to install it on my Vista 64 bit machine and it seems to install but when I try to use it nothing happens.

    Any insight would be great.

Well, for a start, uninstall Chrome and install a much improved version of Chrome, called CoolNovo. They do say that it will run OK on Vista.

You can get it at: CoolNovo Browser - Formerly ChromePlus, fast and safe web browser with IE Tab

Next, to ensure absolutely all of your software is slap bang up to date and that you are using the very latest version, try using Secunia PSI (PSI = Personal Software Inspector). Works on Microsoft Windows Vista SP 1 or later.

You can get this at: Free Security Software Download - (PSI) - Secunia

Surely for a start, get rid of Vista and install Win7 ;)

I did try. I bought an upgrade disc from tesco a while back. Set if off and at the end it said upgrade not guaranteed due to some setting in the bios.

I said stuff that. Rolled back and returned the disc.

Once this pc dies I'm hoping to move to a mac.

    Warning! Mcafee "sucks"

    The site is fine.

Surely you could unistall chrome, restart, download it again, install.

If it doesn't work again, the ctrl+alt+del and see if if chrome32.exe is running in task manager.

Can't try coolnovo at the moment. I've deleted and reinstalled chrome and it just doesn't run or show up in the task manager.

Are you using the same install file?

Did you clear your temp directory?

Having you tried deleting some of the hidden folders that a failed chrome install would leave behind? in places like

    C:\Users\NAME\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome

An overly sensitive security suite perhaps?

I've done all that. I even disabled my anti virus nothing changes. I guess I'm just destined not to use chrome. :thumbsdow

This worked. I wonder why this worked and chrome didn't?

I assume this browser is safe? No back doors for some Chines hacker?

    Didn't work.

Thanks Begonia, Mcafee likes this site just fine, unlike your earlier link which is still rejected by Mcafee.

I just might try this browser as I am having a few problems with Chrome! Can CoolNovo be installed alongside Chrome or does Chrome need to be uninstalled first?

Wouldn't touch that CoolNovo with a barge pole. Never heard of it.

Make sure you install Chrome with full elevated administrator privileges.

I've been having so many problems with Google Chrome so I uninstalled it and installed Mozilla Firefox. I've not looked back, it runs like a dream!
