Having preordered this morning, I too was thrown into a state of panic when I read that you would need your password when Sky phoned to book the install. So, I've just rang SkyHD and was told that if you do not know your password then they - as long as the account is in your name - will accept the answer to a security question, eg 'mother's maiden name'.

Having said this, I have now changed password in anticipation of the call as I do not want this to happen :

"Hello, can I speak to Mr. Woodiwiss please?"

"Yep, that's me. How can I help?"

"It's SkyHD, just ringing to book your install. Could you just confirm your password please?"

    "Sure, it's....erm....lion?.....no.......erm.....lion1.....no...erm

"You have one last chance Mr Woodiwiss"

    "I know it's Lion12"

"Unfortunately not, thankyou for showing an interest in SkyHD; we will send out a letter in the next 6-8 weeks and you can arrange the install after that date...ok?"

    "NOOOOoooooooooooooo!!!!!"

Now, I'm going to write the password down, hold on...what was it???

Dont worry about it, as long as you know your name and postcode you will be fine

Unless you are going to steal somones credit card and then treat said person to a Sky HD install :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

When I picked up my Email this morning at work the on line form did ask for a password so I stopped as I too could not recall what the heck it is. Later this evening I logged in at home & completed the on line form which this time just requested the Sky Viewing Card Number. Interesting. I wonder if they anticipated mass phone calls of panic & so ammended the form ?.

When I completed the preorder form it stated that you would need your Sky password when Sky rang to book the install.

As I said in the first post, don't worry if you can't remember - simply ring SkyHD and they will reset it after asking you a security question.

Early Sky Digital installations did not have a requirement for a password. When I queried it last night with Sky, they said not to worry about it.
