i was going to post this in the running thread but it will get more coverage here and is relevant to more than running. I posted this on my running clubs Facebook page but thought I would share it here. Well it's inspiration time. Many time s I have been asked why I do crazy runs like Great North wearing fire kit and breathing apparatus (total weight around 3 stone). I normally do it for charity and this depends on what has happened to people around me . Well that's not the real reason. People like Eddie Izard are proof of mind over matter. Even the people that come to the running club struggling to do that first 1 minute run and go on to run 5k, 10k half marathon and some even further. But my real inspiration is a young man call TerryFox. I was only introduced to him in recent years as I didn't hear of him in the 80's when he did his big event. The BBC did a 3 part documentary around that time about him but I never saw it. But for those with short attention span here is an 8 minute abridged version by ESPN and this is why I do what I do..... Terry Fox ESPN ESPN brings you the inspirational story of one of Canada's greatest heroes... Terry Fox YOUTUBE.COM If it's ok with the mods can I share my just giving page to in aid of Macmillan? Thanks.
