I'm after some form of lights to come on when it gets dark or at certain times.

I know about the plug in timers for table lamps but I was wanting for the main lights, eg stairs, living room etc.

I've found a bayonet timer, but its quite expensive and I'd need 5 for the living room light alone. Also I have other lights that are SES fitting, can't see any of those.

Am I on the right track here? What do others do? Anyone help/suggest please

    Cheers

I don't have it but I think the Lightwave stuff would do this, link a 'dusk to dawn' sensor into a bulb, plug or light switch I think.

The lightwave looks really good, looks like you have to have a WiFi link and then change the physical switch over. It does look good kit, but maybe overkill for me, and expensive.

Anyone got any Lightwave RF stuff comment? It maybe something I look at as looks like controlling from an iPhone is allowed to.

You need the wifilink for the iPhone part but only this to activate the bulb/switch I think, depends how much you want to expand it :)

Looks good but as above need a WiFi link £70 and then the switch £20. Obviously can then expand it though.

I've also noticed Belkin do the WeMo range. Similar thing as the LightwaveRF but looks like only do plug in socket types, so for lamps, TVs etc really.

I'm also thinking now of a auto blind closer. If I auto put the light on, and the blinds are open it is plain to see no one in. Looks like there is a device to so this but costs about £75 also. Anyone used one? Have one? Any good?

    Cheers
