    My Panny AE500 has component, scart, and composite, and S-Video. Can someone rank these in order of which is best ?

    Also I cannot get prog scan to work with my rubbish compacks dvd player (it is definitely prog scan). Does it only work with a certain input type?

    component -> scart (assuming it's RGB) -> s-video -> composite

    Prog scan will only work with a component connection.

    That'll be why it all goes funny then when I choose prog scan :)

    I'm currently using composite, so time to buy some component cables. Any recommended stores?

    Can't really think of any places I would recommend, try searching the forums as I'm sure it will have been discussed many times.

    BTW, your ae500 also has dvi which is better than component (generally). Instead of getting component cables you could put the money towards a dvi player + cable.

    how much is a dvi player? Are we talking over £100 cos I just bought a prog scan cheapie recently, which I'd get about 50p for second hand.
