Hi,

I have a Panasonic 46PZ85 and I'm wondering how to get sound (and video) from my laptop to it.
Panasonic Viera TH-46PZ85 46in Plasma TV - Feature Table

My laptop only has VGA out and the headphone socket.

I can get the audio if I split it to the svideo audio input - but then I dont get the video because I havent selected that (VGA) AV channel. Its one or the other.

Am I missing something obvious?

I believe you need to connect the audio to the component audio input phono sockets adjacent to the component video inputs on the rear connection panel so you'll need a 3.5mm stereo jack to 2 phonos lead from the laptop headphone socket.

Can I suggest yu read the instructions for your TV.
A VGA input would normally on most sets have a 3.5mm stereo jack associated with it.
If that is the case you wil need a VGA cable and 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable.

I downloaded and read the user manual for the OPs set...it doesn't use a stereo minijack, it uses the stereo phono inputs adjacent to the component input.
