Infous 5700 noisy colourwheel - what next?

Standard Member
Well, My trusty Infocus Screenplay 5700 has started making a horrible whining noise intermittently from the colour wheel. I'd welcome your views on whether it is worth getting the unit repaired or is that likely to cost more than a new HD ready projector?

Is the colour wheel something I can get to and just apply a bit of grease to the bearings?

Money is tight - which is why I have ended up keeping the 5700 for so long, but I have a PS3 and would like to move to 720P if possible. How do the Optima 600x and Acer 5360 compare with my 5700 for quality and noise?

I'd really welcome some advice here.

Thanks in advance,
