Hello guys, I bought an infocus x1 projector a few months ago and it was standing on a table with the dvd player in the back of the room the connection was made with a cheap s-video cable for the dvd player (with a cheap dvd player ) and the cable tv was connected with a composite cable. I will be buying a dvd player next week a progressive scan one. I just bought a projector mounting kit and i am going to mount it in the ceiling at last but i really dont know what kind of cables should i use. The distance will be around 15 meters between the dvd player and the satelite box with the projector i mean, i asked a local dealer he told me that i could use an s-video cable but he told me that a van den hull s-video cable of that length costs areound 350 euro which is around 450 usd i really dont want to pay 450 usd for connection with a 900 usd projector, meaning its out of my budget. When getting my projector i also bought from infocus the adapter for s-video to component. I dont know if i should or could use it? So i need to know how can improove my image quality while changing the distance from a few meters of cable to 15meters The one thing that i came across today was the vesa to component cable i dont know that one i guess its something for connecting the dvd player to the projector via the computer in socket. http://www.ramelectronics.net/html/x1-cables.html#s Help will be highly appreciated guys thanks in advance in the near futre i will be buying an av receiver as well does that change anything ? And is there anything i should look for especially in a dvd player as a connection despite the fact that it has to be a progressive scan one ?
