They are out in europe re-badged by Thompson. There are ment to viewing problems with these sets when viewing off axis. By this I mean if your not sat directly in front of the screen the picture brightness is effected. The slim design is ment to be the culprit for this problem.

There is also an issue with DLP artifacts and noise.

The 61' screen is £6000 an the 50' screen costs £3000

    :D

I've seen the 50" as a Thompson in Comet the bottom bit makes it look hideous unfortuately.

Hi Locky :hiya: and thank you for your kind words :)

Your right that this set has allot of picture quality issues, which is a shame as the idea of having a extra slim DLP set is apealing. Maybe this will be perfected in future models. I was surprised how poor this set performed as Infocus are good front pro DLP maufacturers. It was a big let down, as for the £6000 asking price for the 61' I feel this is way to high for essentially a larger cabinet with the same workings as the 50'. (£3000 extra for a bigger case/housing/cabinet)

    :D

    Oke,

But i have seen a A+B comparison of the thomson 61" and the Sagem 45 and the toshiba 52 ",and for me the thomson was way beter.

They where all connected true dvi ,and the thomson was on all the parts better than the tosh and the sagem.

Didn`t find a optoma, but in the new magazine Video from germany they give him    all the way.

Did you see the tosh in real live Razor..
Because the infocus and the thomson one uses different chips.
I thougt the thomson has one from mustang and the infocus the hd2 12" darkchip2
And the design is just great,i love it above the rest.

    But the price,,yeah oke,but i have the 61" for the price of the 50" one... :D :D :D

Yes I have seen the Tosh set in action.

If you want a big screen display then try the RD65 from Optoma (65'). Be aware that it cant do 60Hz and the only way to acheive this is from a pc or scaller.
I am very happy with the performance in both HD and SD material. The RD65 is only £4,000-00.

Oke that is what i mean,4000  i got mine for 4000euro..
I have owned a toshiba 50wh18p for 4 years now.
Never a problem ,accept the halo problems..
So i went too see the tosh, but it didn`even come close too the thomson.
The screen off the thomson is a little bit reflective, but not worth talking about.
    And the ntsc problem,..yeah i don`t want a pc playing dvd`s.
I want a dvdplayer for that.

And the optoma even has the halo problem ..
And that is gone bij the thomson.

    Mvrg,
    Raymen
