Twice in the last few weeks, when I have powered up my InFocus 5700 PJ, it clicks a bit, fires up audibly, but produces no image. It makes a kind of whirring sound but nothing appears.

If I then pull out the power lead then try again, it fires up perfectly.

    Any ideas what is happening?

    Thanks all.

I dont know what is happening, but this is the sort of thing that is worth watching and definitely worth getting looked at before the warranty is up....

I had something similar, luckily only once till now!

After watching a movie, I pressed the Power button to turn the PJ off. The green LED started blinking, as it is supposed to, but the lamp did not turn off! I waited for a long time, and then I tried turning the PJ back on, but, as the manual specifically states, no operation is allowed while the green LED is blinking. Saying my prayers, I pulled the plug, put it back on and when it started warming up again, I turned it off properly. Luckilly, everything still works fine, but if anything like that happens again I will notify my dealer.

I've had this once so far. If it happens again it's warranty check time...

Sound like the colour wheels bearings.

My two Infocus x 1 are in for repair should be warranty but they claim that because they are used in a smoking enviorement then its not
