I just risked buying a Sanyo MDG-X5 Minidisc unit.
I have only the unit + photocopy of user manual +an optical connection lead.
I could use at least the connections for the ribbon connector socket at the rear .
It says it needs +5volts DC + 18 V ac to power it - but I have no idea of the required currents.
The specifications just say "Power : supplied from the Tuner/amp".
I am an electronics engineer so no problems if I had more information to work with.
Interestingly, the ribbon cable/connector on my Aiwa XR-MD200 seems to be identical (but I'm sure the actual pin definitions (and probably the supply voltages) will be different .

As this only cost me 20 quid, I don't relish forking out a similar amount to get a service manual.
All help and info greatly appreciated.
(I might also be interested in anyone selling the matching tuner/amp of course).
