I've posted in the HCPC forum about using the AE100 and a laptop as the DVD player if people are interested.

    http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=267007

the subject crosses over the 3 htpc, lcd projector AND dvd player forums so awkward to work out where to post it truly...
(so not a duplicate post... more a heads up).

anyway, so far, I reckon running a laptop as a dvd player is a real possibility...

better than pal or ntsc progressive scan resolution for starters,
and low noise levels since no fan is active on the laptop.

if you are in the market for an expensive ntsc/pal progressive scan player for projector or plasma duties then its worth looking at.

if you also need a laptop at the same time.. then definitely considerate it. infinitely more flexible.

as a bonus, you're also getting a portable multi-region dvd player at the same time due to the TV out.
