I have an large collection of DVD's that consistis of R1, R2 and R4 titles, all of them play fine EXCEPT for 2 titles. Both are region 1 and both are from New Line's "infinifilm" range (Thirteen days and 15 minutes)

When i watch either of these films the aspect ratio changes. in the case of thirteen days it does it about 10 times during the running time and with 15 Minutes it does it about 5.

Has anybody else noticed this problem? is there a way to correct it?

The player i'm using is an eclispse DVD-695 and the TV is a Philips 28 inch widescreen.

    thanks

    Gary

    Hi

My copy of R1 Thirteen days plays perfectly ok on my Toshiba 210.

Could be a problem with the lead, though if all your other discs are ok its strange it only does it on these 2 discs.

You could try changing the cable to see if it makes any difference or switch the dvd player to S-VHS to see if that cures it.

No doubt you´ll get some more answers!!

    cheers

I had a similar problem watching R2 DVD's on my R1 sourced Pioneer player. The only way I solved this one was to turn off the auto 16.9 switching on my TV. May or may not work but well worth a try.

Yup - sounds like the old "Auto-switching" strikes again.

I always have my Panny 32PK1 set to 16:9...the only time I change it is if I'm playing a 4:3 PS2 game, then I "Zoom" it.

Never, ever have the "Panasonic Auto" or "Just" modes on....automatic switching does my fu...flippin' head in ;)
