    Hi,

I ordered How to Train a Dragon 3 3D from Zoom expecting the version With slip cover and digital download instead I received a Blu-Ray with 3D and 2D only no slip case and no Digital Download.
So email them they said sorry but no explanation as why I received that copy and they would send another one out.
But still showing as sent to warehouse.you think they would send one straight out the same day I emailed them Friday 6th June.
I’m not sure weather to shop with them again if it’s going to happen again.
So has anybody else have this problem or am I a one off?

Yeah, unfortunately chances are you'll receive the same again and have to decide between keeping it or claiming a refund. I still use them, however; generally a good retailer with great prices.

I picked up a copy at my local Asda for pretty much the same price as Zoom were charging and mine came with a slip, but oddly enough on the actual casing it just stated 3d blu & 2d blu at the top, nothing about the digital download, though it did say all 3 on the slip.

Also is it just me or does the first film really hold its resale value? Took me ages to get a decent condition blu at a reasonable price.

Thanks that’s good to know I didn’t open it as it was sealed.
Yes it does hold its value, I found it hard to get number 2 with a slipcover.

I have always found Zoom to offer a fantastic service, unfortunately it sounds like they have mixed up some stock which is always annoying but does happen and I wouldn’t hold it against them.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem. There seems to be bit of a con going on as I bought the 4K version off amazon which came today with NO slip and NO digital code yet its advertised with one (code) on amazon and every other site that sells them so I don't know whats going on???

Do you think AVforums will do a review?

The lack of a Digital Download code and a slipcase does not make a Blu-ray 'inferior'.

Has anyone seen it for sale with a slip and did it include a Digital Download Code (I thought those had died a death)? It may be that specifications have changed since it was first announced, or that the slip was limited to first pressing only. Which I doubt as it only came out today didn't it?

Either way, under distance selling regulations you are well within your rights to return it for a full refund as it isn't what you ordered. I'd return it. Zoom are usually excellent and I'm sure they will understand.

Edit: Remember when Sorcerer came out and it didn't have the slip (as advertised) for ages?

I never said it was inferior its just annoying what you order and what to get can be bit of a lottery these days.

If you want a slipcover, then ordering online is always a bit of a risk as you're not guaranteed to be sent a slip. The only way to guarantee you will get a slip is to buy in-store.
In fact this topic comes up quite often when there’s a new Marvel release, & some members opt to buy in-store to make sure they get a slipcover.

Having a quick look on eBay shows both types for sale, not sure why they have released both at the same time as the more stripped down release normally appears a few weeks/months later.

I’m not sure there are different types out there. It seems that the slipcases/cards covers say digital download & the back of slipcase says digital download, but the actual cover inside on the Amaray doesn’t mention digital download.

    Couple unboxing videos
Jump to 5:15 (the guy chats for absolutely ages)
No slipcover & no mention of digital download anywhere, but it does have a code inside.

OP may have just been unlucky that the code was missing. Hopefully replacement will have the code, although slipcover will still be hit or miss.

Ah well if that is the case then it’s solely down to certain copies not shipping with a slipcover which is hardly a recent development and certainly not limited to Zoom, in fact in recent years they have been far better than the likes of Amazon and Zavvi at shipping releases with a slipcover.

It's always a bit of a lottery when you order online

Looks like it should have a slip at least. Yesterday BigPauly posted his Monday 'Blu-ray Hunting' video and if you skip to 2:49 even Sainsbury's have it in stock with a slip, at 9:43 you can also see it in stock at HMV with a slip.

Blu-ray / DVD Hunting with Big Pauly...

    I'd return it.

The first video I posted, they didn’t have slip covers for it in the shop he bought it from, so not all shops have slip covers for it.
It’s always easier to get a slip if you buy it from the high street rather than online.

Im sure I had a blu rays from them which was Never Go Back and had missing the digital download which it said it contained. Of all things it came with a slip but normally the case is in sealed and the slip over it this one came with the slip being shrink wrapped. When I mentioned it on the forum at the time someone else said they missing the slip of paper with the digital code missing.

No version says digital copy on the bluray case, there is only one version, and it will have a digital copy inside also, just the slipcase says digital copy.

Unboxing videos are usually a real waste of time and are just silly.

They’re handy sometimes to double check what a specific release contains before you buy it.
Eg in this case, it confirmed that the text “Digital Download” is missing from the cover art, but the code should still be included inside.

Not sure your question mate, my reply refers to how to train your dragon 3 only, on bluray case just says Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray, but slipcase says Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray + Digital Download, so people getting the bluray delivered without a slipcase think they may not be getting a digital code, but there is code inside bluray.

Ah i see now, yeh i should have quoted the post i was referring to, my bad!, it is unusual thou for them to be different, usually slipcase is exactly the same as the bluray cover.
