Just got home and there it was, great service from Shopto, first time i have used them and will definitetly use again will post some thoughts on the game later.
Are you allowed to roam freely around the map from the start or is it linear?
Glad everyone seems to be loving this! I' ve stuck in an order tonight so should get it on Friday. I thought that the demo was great and this seems just like the kind of game I could get into at the moment.
I take it that the RPG elements from the game are pretty basic, but is there much choice in how you develop your character and his skills?
Its that repetitive side which worried me . . . Think il wait a week and see what peoples views are like after that amount of timeBasically you earn new skills by turnining on the power in different sections of the city. You can then upgrade those skills by spending xp on them.
In terms of developing your character, so far for me all the story missions have given me good karma. Then you have the side missions - most of them are neutral and do not change your karma, but some are good and some are bad (blue or red). If you complete a good side mission it gives you good karma and then locks out the corresponding evil side mission, and vice versa.
You are also presented with a choice in some missions whether to do a good act or an evil act, with each decision changing your karma.
Think that's it, hope it helps
Really loving the game so far. I have 2 negatives about it at the moment, but both are pretty minor. The first is that the enemies can shoot much further then you can which can be annoying at times. The second is that a lot of the side missions are similar or exactly the same as each other which can get a bit repetative and boring.

Does the good/evil choice effect your gameplay in any major way?
I still have nightmares from True Crime: Streets of LA when any attempt to have fun and kill some people ended the game early with you being thrown off the force.

With regards to the city, the environment, the people, how alive is the city? Take GTA4 as a benchmark, in comparison to that is there much going on in the city besides people walking, cars driving?
