The Mirai has PIP, but can only combine 1 analog and 1 digital image, not 2 digital ones or for example VGA and SCART. Component video is on the VGA plug. Officially supported PC resolutions are limited and low resolution. The set has backlight brightness control, which is good. And a friend's Mirai DTL-532W100 has a good picture in my opinion.

The Tatung (seems to be sold under the Goodmans name also) is slightly more expensive and has a removable speaker bar. However, some people complain of a rather narrow optimal viewing angle. It is much more flexible wrt PIP and also supports analog TV input to full resolution. It has some extra connectors (component, audio out) for flexibility. It also has a backlight control in the menu.

So up to now the features all point to the Tatung. But how is the picture quality? Am I missing anything by not spending more on an A-brand?
