Fabulous news.
Hopefully some will remember when they were filmed and not expect Tenet lIke PQ 🤣. Think I’ll likely bodyswerve these threads now but great news and one of my favourite film series

Certainly makes sense, given it’s 40 years now.

Quite like that cover. Even though it looks like pretty amateurish.

We will likely have a Steelbook option.

That’ll be my preferred option. 3 more nice Steelbooks on the shelf.

Thank God Paramount kept the rights to the first 4 Indy movies when Disney bought Lucasfilm or this may never have happened.

Day 1 purchase at full price

Spielberg is hands on with his big title catalog releases expect decent AV on this set! Paramount continue to be a champion for physical 4K UHD as well I hope they do a few more catalog titles in 2021. In 2020 they started to release quite a few (sometime BD only but from 4K remasters so they looked great anyway!).

This was part of the deal Paramount did a few years ago selling Iron Man rights to Disney & giving up their perpetual rights to future Indiana Jones movies but keeping the rights to the first 4 Indy's for something like $190M at the time it was reported I believe!

I hope Zavvi do not have a SB exclusive for this set. If they do, then the free special edition spine slash must be included if they want my money.... :p

I imagine they won't even need to rescan this one again in 4k, as the blu-ray version already looks great.

Will wait for the reviews, as the blurays are already very good in my opinion. Atmos would be nice

iirc the last 4k scan was done around the time of the imax rerelease along with the new colour timing, hopefully they redo it using 2021 tech, but they didn't for star wars (all scanned around the same time iirc) fingers crossed for official confirmation soon (not seen any other than on here) raiders with atmos would be a dream come true, though it does look and sound amazing as is, i'm guessing if it is june that "would" have been to tie in with the then scheduled release of 5, as paramount seem to stick to their home release guns (top gun, eddie murphy etc)

fingers crossed for official confirmation soon (not seen any other than on here)
I’d take this thread with a pinch of salt until there’s an official announcement (what’s the source for this artwork?), as he has a habit of speculatively creating threads in the steelbooks section with nothing more than a guess that something ‘might’ be released.

For what it's worth, The Digital Bits has had this listed for a while now, but without a precise date - "TBA 2021“.
