Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse

Head Of Child Sex Abuse Inquiry Resigns

Not bad work if you can get it. Paid almost half a mill and achieved absolutely nothing. Good to know the public finances are in such good shape. Arguably less than nothing since she's cost the enquiry another year.

It's almost as if the powers that be don't want an outcome...

They do want an outcome - Nothing happened here, move along. While the abusers, die off one by one. Crimes revealed, people act shocked for a few days, then the news cycle moves on.

The difference I think will be the survivors of abuse who won't roll over, some seem determined to get justice.

Whenever I hear people taking the Mick out of conspiracy theorist nut cases (Tin foil hats etc...) I always try to remember instances like this. The last few years are full of shocking similar cases.

Yep. You just take the factually known establishment nonces - Cyril Smith, Peter Hayman and Peter Morrison for a start, predilections known by the PMs of their day, certainly up to Thatcher - and then you'll certainly appreciate that's most probably not even scratching the surface.

The phone hacking scandal is the best model to go on. A couple or more hacks were thrown to the wolves originally and nothing more was said or done by the authorities/establishment for about a decade, even though everyone knew it was going on, with a certain editor even proudly joking/boasting of this outrageously criminal behaviour taking place.

Finally a decent choice! :smashin:
- should have been chair from the start!
Professor Alexis Jay, who led the Rotherham abuse inquiry, is to be new chairwoman of national inquiry into child sex abuse.

It comes after the resignation of Dame Lowell Goddard last week.

Prof Jay, a former head of social services, was already among the inquiry's panel of advisers.

Pretty much my reaction when I heard the news. Hopefully she can cut through all the roadblocks the Home Office Mandarins have thrown at the inquiry to try and make sure it doesn't go anywhere.

Makes me wonder what else that family is hiding.

I have to wonder how far this independent inquiry can and will investigate
I'm not sure how other members feel about this in a historical sense but I feel this systemic abuse rums down deep from Royal members to politically elite including MPs and Lords through to celebs and minions.

I have a feeling this was ,maybe still is the untouchable paedophile ring that ever existed.

Well it's a case of the number of survivors coming forward overwhelming any cover up's that have gone. It requires a successful prosecution and the house of cards will fall down. Alexis Jay has a chance of uncovering the truth if she is able to avoid further delays and holds the home office at arms length.

He wanted to pay for coke but not for himself. Mmm. That's an offence.

Note this also:

"Home Affairs Select Committee, Mr Vaz has publicly said he was “not convinced” that men who pay for sex should face prosecution.

Within weeks of a report from the committee, he himself paid money to escorts in a flat he owns near his family home in Edgware, North West London."

When asked about the allegations Diane Abbott, shadow health secretary, said: "I've known Keith for over 30 years, I think this must be a dreadful time for him and his family - his wife and his two children - and I'd rather not comment."

Numerous news sources reporting on it. Carlsberg don't do Sunday mornings, but if they did... Oh thanks for this.

Karma for a fudgeing weasel. Did nothing over decades of child prostitution and grooming gangs in his constituency, and actively protected his neigbouring MP Greville Janner from investigation - this was always clear from what was and is going on in Leicester, and his original strong support for Janner. Corruption was pretty much acknowledged with his censure for obstructing Filkin.

Guido Fawkes - Parliamentary plots and conspiracy

Look back at Keith Vaz’s interventions in the Commons debate on drugs in January. Just eight months ago, Vaz told the House of his “great surprise” at revelations MPs had used poppers:

“The shadow Minister, my hon. Friend the Member for West Ham (Lyn Brown), has said—this was a bit of shock for me after 28 years in this House—that Ministers have stood at the Dispatch Box having had poppers. I think that is what she said and it was a great surprise to the House. She obviously knows more than I do about such issues”

Lyn Brown definitely does not know more about poppers than Keith Vaz.

Vaz, a fan of
cocaine and poppers-fuelled gay sex parties, then told the House that he opposed liberalising drugs:

“I have great respect for my hon. Friend, who was a distinguished member of the Home Affairs Committee. I know that his position is to liberalise the law on drugs, but that is not my position and nor is it that of the Committee.”

He vowed to vote to ban poppers if they were proved to be harmful:

“Without equivocation, I give him a guarantee that if the review decides that poppers are harmful, I will be the first in the Division Lobby with him, supporting that view.”

Will there be an announcement he now has Alzheimer's?

Home affairs, indeed...

Well Guido is gunning for Vaz now in a much bigger way than before.
You can probably guess the allegation he's flung at Vaz, seems to have no fear of Libel Laws old Guido.

It woz the drugs what done it, honest governor -
Labour MP Keith Vaz 'met male prostitutes in his London flat'

Keith Vaz is somehow making out that we should have some sympathy because he is a victim of a newspaper scam. He says it is 'deeply disturbing'. Is he nuts?

While not illegal- at least the sex bit, as the chairman of the Select Committee he made out he was a guardian of our morals. He had a particularly pious nature about him and rather pompous..

Well it's certainly disturbing, put me off my croissant on the way from Tunbridge Wells this morning.

He's trying to save his own skin as usual. Politicians caught out by the tabloids always call it a scam. Anyway I expect a lot more twist and turns will come out sooner rather than later about Vaz.

Well those with superficial charm tend to be like that, pious one minute then pompous when challenged directly. As far as the law goes ? Class A drugs ? He'll be in hot water for that most likely.

Yeah well there are a lot of disturbing things about Vaz that Krish probably knows more about
than I do.

He has been just as sleazy in his other roles so no surprise.

Keith Vaz caught with his trousers down in a rather seedy story.

Apart from the personal embarrassment, its not good to know that he had an input to this enquiry.
Married MP Keith Vaz tells prostitutes he invited to flat to bring poppers

I'll just add this for now.

Keith Vaz: The 'Teflon MP' who enjoys the limelight

"He’s been christened “the Teflon MP” and “Keith Vazeline” for the way he seems to slide past trouble, lubricated against failure.""

Seems he used his charity to pay for sex, but listed it as painting. Which is fraud...

Silly old man.
Not read the article in the Mirror but listened to the news, just curious, is there a suggestion he is peodophile as well as being in the closet about his sexuality?
