I've got a Sony Vaio PCG GRT916V that I use for watching DVD's when away from home, during the summer I will be driving down to the South of France and want the kids to be able to watch some DVD's whilst on route so they dont get too bored. I've got a headphone splitter that enables me to plug 2 x headphones in so both bkids can hear whats playing but even with the volume cranked up to full it's still very quiet. How can I increase the volume through the headphones? Is there any utility that allows boosting system volume or do I need some sort of amplifier (small cheap and firewire or USB)?
