The title explains most of it.

I am currently running M&K speakers in a 5.2 setup. Specifically:

    -- L/C/R are M&K MPS 2550 http://www.mkprofessional.com/mps2550.html
    -- SR/SL are M&K MPS 1625 http://www.mkprofessional.com/mps1625.html
    -- Subwoofers are M&K MX0350 THX MKII http://www.mksound.com/mx350.html

I want a stealthier look and am now considering in-walls. While I do like the M&K sound and M&K does make in-walls I would like feedback on experience and thoughts that others may have.

    Other pertinent information is:

    -- TMA 100x5R, AV192R, DVD32R
-- Use is 85%+ HT with the balance being music.

    Look forward to everyone's feedback.

    Thanks,

    Joel

    Hi Joel,

I use 7 M&K SW-150s (these are the in-wall version of the S-150 speaker) with the MX-350 sub and they sound great. You will need a 4" deep recess in the wall to house the speaker, which can be difficult to achieve. I don't know if you have any children but a great benefit of these speakers is that they have a metal grill and this prevents any small fingers from damaging the speakers.

    Regards,

    Steve

Many thanks for the feedback. The need for 4" of wall depth is not an issue as I will be tearing the room apart.

The first issue is really the sound... are there more musical and/or better value in-walls. The ones that I have heard good to great things about are the TRIAD Golds. Any thoughts?

The second issue is design... I have been advised that the better in-walls have self contained boxes/enclosures which the M&K's do not. Any thoughts on thi issue?

    TIA,

    Joel

I only got round to auditioning one set of in-walls and I was totally blown away. If you have a B&W dealer nearby go and audtion the 8NT signatures. Prior to this I had a pair of KEF 105/3 with 2 ASW800 subs. These B&W in-walls have such a good bass response that I only use the one sub for HT now. I ended up building an extended chimney breast to house them but it has been worth it ! They cost £1500 each
