OK, it's not for me it's for somebody else.

It's been a LONG time since I was in the market for a VHS vcr so am not well up of any new features (if any!) to look for.

It doesn't have to be anything special like SVHS, HD combi etc.

Just a simple cheapo VCR but it MUST have Video+ and
'quasi SVHS' play back so I can playback my SVHS tapes on it.

Also, on the Sanyo range they have a feature called
    '16:9 Conversion'.
Is this just the recording of the WS flag or an actual 'down conversion to 4:3?
Wouldn't have thought this technically possibe with analogue, but such a feature would be VERY useful to me as I record a lot in WS but they have a 4:3 TV.

I suppose I'm looking for some sort of 'anamorphic squeeze' feature that you seen on some 4:3 TVs.

Any help, links etc much appreciated.
