    Hi all,

Anyone using ceiling speakers for stereo use??

I am thinking of putting a pair in the kitchen when I move house and using a stereo amp or the B output of my AV amp to output to them so I can have music as I cook :smashin:

I would need goodish quality ones with a decent amount of bass extension to give me a nice musical sound not too big though..

    Anyone?

    Ta

    Hi,

I have used the sonance speakers, the one's with a directional tweeter, hooked up to a Russound whole house system.

They give plenty of bass and I don't think you will be disappointed with them. Frankly I was amazed how capable they were.

    Thanks Gary,

Yes it is the bass thing I was a little concerned about as I thought they wouldn't be anywhere near capable enough for their size.

I have been thinking about the directional tweeter ones as well as the fixed tweeter ones (which come in a little cheaper) but was wondering if they made a lot of difference in reality? I suppose you can gain some extra dispersal of sound if using in a large room.

I am glad you were suprised by the quality of sound from them Gary, it seems that it will be a worthwhile thing to do in the kitchen.

The directional tweeters really do work and help to give a pretty good soundstage. I would recommend going for them.

Also consider the Speakercraft range, both sonance and speakercraft are the the real players in custom install and we always use these in all our installations

Thanks ntslik, I will check them out too..I am going to import the sonance if I decide to go for them as I can get the 622TR's for a good price....(less than £200 a pair incl taxes and custom charges)

    Thanks

    Paul
